Tekhni Nymphai Review Cotton and Repreve Blend
If you follow my blog then you know I love Tekhni! The company offers a wide range of supportive wraps in stunning colors and patterns that fit my family well. We are thrilled to share this new design, Nymphai. Nymphai is a collaboration between Tekhni woven wraps and The Leaky Boob and is seen here in a cotton/Repreve blend in the color Coastal. This wrap is supportive, with the stretch and cush that are characteristic of Repreve, and beautiful on both the right and ‘wrong’ side. At 28″ wide after wash (28.5 before), this wrap is the perfect width for everyone.
I measured length, width and weighed the wrap both before and after it was washed. While this isn’t a scientific approach (I use 2 kitchen scales and a tape measure from Lowe’s) it can give you an idea of this wrap’s thickness. Pre-Wash = 305 g/m2 Post-Wash = 334 g/m2 which means this is a nice thick/cushy wrap. Unlike our 100% cotton wraps, like Thalia, Nymphai has more stretch and a higher cush factor. Why is cush important? After awhile 32 lbs can get heavy! Having some bounce prevents dig marks on my shoulders and behind baby’s knees. Here are some photos and more info! How does this compare to other Tekhnis? In addition to having beautiful pattern and meaning, it’s supportive and easy to care for. Unlike our Thalia, which is 100% cotton and has a dense weave, Nymphai has more stretch and cush from it’s repreve blend, but not as much as our Ceres. I would recommend this for new and experienced wrappers alike. It looked amazing right out of the dryer, bounces back quickly after it gets wrinkled and has never needed an iron. Anyone who was at MommyCon DC and got to see this in person knows how amazing it is! We wore this wrap on that day alone for 2, nearly 3 hours spurts! Now that’s a wrap. My 20 m/o took naps, socialized and even snacked in a double hammock.
In other news. I’ve decided to stop dying the near half dollar sized white patch in the front of my hair. I started seeing bright white hairs here before I was old enough to buy a bottle of wine! I never thought I’d dye my hair. Limiting the chemicals I put into and on my body is very important to me…however I found myself dying my hair every 4 weeks. After some stressful family medical stuff, I found these hairs sprouting up everywhere. I was dying my Mom’s hair a few months ago and had an epiphany. My Mom is 30 years older then me and I thought….am I really going to dye my hair every 4 weeks for the next 30 years?!! Nope, the answer is no. For now, I’m possibly aiming to play the role or Mrs. Claus in upcoming Christmas movies.
Caring for Repreve is easy! I also find that our Repreve blend wraps look great even after they’ve been rolled up in a ball for awhile. Make sure to read all about Repreve in my Ceres review and find out more info about this fantastic company.

This is such a beautiful material and looks so soft. I think it really helps the bonding experience between mother and child.

I find it amazing that you are able to wear your toddler in this sling even though you are pregnant! Now that definitely says something about the strength and durability of the fabric this is made from.
That's a very fashionable sling/whatever it's called! So much better than those over-the-shoulder ones that are usually tan or black.

I have THREE sisters in law that all just had babies over the summer, so I will tell them all about this. It looks so comfy and I LOVE the fabric!
