I’ve always tried to eat healthy foods. However, it’s hard with children. I find that I don’t have time to prepare healthy recipes for myself. I often snack or eat the kid’s leftovers instead of making a healthy meal and I’m gaining weight. This is where green smoothies come in. They’re fast and easy to make. I can drink a smoothie while I’m walking around, driving, giving baths or loading the dishwasher. It replaces a meal or is the main part of my meal with something small on the side. Without green smoothies, I wouldn’t get to eat all these healthy green leaves.

Green smoothie recipe ingredients:

  • 2 cups of healthy leafy greens
    • Such as organic power greens from Wegmans
  • 1/2 cup frozen Mango (or blueberries)
    • helps keep the drink cold
  • 1 small banana
  • 1/4 cup cashews or almonds
    • Optional, remove for allergy or sensitivity
  • 1 scoop Plant Fusion lean plant-based protein powder
    • High-quality powder made at USDA Organic certified USA facility
    • World-class testing protocol and
    • Eco-friendly company
  • 8 oz cold water or milk of choice

Place all ingredients into a smoothie maker. I use an Oster Pro blender or the large nutri-bullet cup. Add in water (I use cold water) or milk of choice including soy, almond, dairy, rice or coconut. Keep in mind that milk will make a thicker smoothie.

Some days, if it wasn't for a green smoothie, I would eat nothing but the kid's leftovers. I'm sharing my green smoothie recipe. The best green smoothie recipe is made with great ingredients and easy to drink. It's a combination of great foods full of nutrients that make staying healthy and eating well easy and fun.

Plant fusion lean plant-based protein powder has 20 superfoods. Amazing, right? No way I’d eat 20 superfoods without this powder! It also contains lactospore probiotic which “…is shown in scientific studies to maintain stability & potency longer than other probiotics. Plus the natural enzyme bromelain which helps with inflammation and protein digestion.” It also has 8 grams of soluble prebiotic fiber and ecolean which is the only protein proven to be 35% more effective than whey protein at warding off hunger. In addition, it’s rich in amino acids which are great for muscular energy and recovery. Check out the organics and nutrition label from the company below. They recommend having the supplement twice a day 30 min before a meal to curb hunger.

Overall I’m happy with the Plant Fusion product line and it’s perfect in this green smoothie recipe. They have a nice line including organic protein powder. I have a sensitive stomach and this does not cause me to have indigestion or be gassy like some other protein powders can. It’s easy to drink and can be purchased from the Plant Fusion shop on Amazon. Please like Plant Fusion on facebook for updates, recipes and deals.

I make fruit smoothies all the time, but I’ve been hesitant to move into green smoothie territory. I love mango though. Does the fruit flavour still come through?

Yes! The fruit comes through well and I find that this mix of greens or spinach is easier to drink than kale. You can always put in a giant tablespoon of yogurt to flavor it too! I’ve tried hemp powder (ack) and different fruits but the frozen mango seems to be the best tasting.

I have tried and tried to like kale but I just can’t. Maybe this is the way for me to get some of the leafy green in my diet!

Yes! This mix of greens is great too. It’s not just kale, it’s a mix with 5 different leaves and the others really help the flavor out.

I’ve never heard of plant fusion; I like that it uses stevia, instead of sugar.

I’ve honestly never heard of Plant Fusion and as a vegan, I find it super interesting! Not too many carbs and sugars for a protein powder either. I’ll definitely be looking for this in my health food stores!

Sounds yummy! I wonder if I could add something other than the banana though, like avocado. I just can’t stomach bananas anymore…

Sure! Do extra mango, blueberries, strawberries etc. I tried other green things and felt like it needed the sweetness but if you can do avocado then go for it! Super healthy!
