Finding a great Swim Diaper for baby can be confusing. What does a swim diaper do? Unlike a regular diaper, a swim diaper doesn’t absorb liquid. It lets water and pee through, and basically keeps poo contained. Unlike a regular cloth or disposable diaper, they don’t absorb liquid, so they are trimmer and airy for the beach or swimming pool. Reusable swim diapers are cute, save money and are great for the environment. Swim diapers are perfect for cloth diapered and disposable diapered babies alike! Here’s our Swimmi One Size Swim Diaper by Mini Kiwi & Bummis, with the Made Here Promise and adorable print! Check out our photos and affiliate links so you can find reputable stores to see all the colors and prints this company has to offer.
I didn’t discover reusable diapers until my second son was 8 months old. I had struggled with rashes, affording the ‘good’ disposable diapers and our impact on the environment. I remember buying disposable swim diapers. I was surprised that they didn’t puff up like a regular disposable in the water, and thought…this is such a waste! A light bulb went on when we discovered cloth diapers and we’ve had a wonderful experience since then. I’ve learned that swim diapers are one of the easiest to understand reusable diaper styles and are perfect for all babies. Swim diapers like the Bummis Swimmi One Size Diaper seen here comes in 6 prints and can be used with cloth diapered and disposable diapered babies alike!
What’s a swim diaper? Basicially a swim diaper is there to catch poo. Water and pee pass through the diaper, but keep the pool or ocean free from any floaters. They get washed and used just like a bathing suit, are adorable and can be worn under a bathing suit or on their own. I’m thrilled to share our Bummis Swimmi sample with you. Overall impression. I really like the soft lining of this swim diaper and knowing that it’s not just PUL next to baby’s skin and sensitive areas. The print is adorable and the double gussets are a really nice touch! This can easily be worn with a sun-shirt or alone as an entire bathing suit, as we do in our back yard out of direct sunshine. Overall the fit is very trim. This fits closer to the body then our Bummis AIO cloth diaper and my baby here, at 25 pounds is on the last waist snaps and is snapped up one row. Like all diapers, based on shape and size of the baby this will fit differently. Since we are on our last waist snaps, I don’t know if this will fit the rest of the season without getting a bit tight and I will search for waist extenders or get the Bummis sized Swimmi with an XL size that’s 30+lbs! Currently available in 6 really adorable prints and priced under $25, this is a great diaper for baby to have some swim time and with Bummis’s Made Here promise, you know you’re getting quality plus great functionality.
