Our newborn is almost 6 weeks old! I love caring for him. When his belly button finally healed and it became time for a bath, I wanted to make sure I used the best and most natural products on him. He doesn’t need chemicals. I have been trying out Balm Baby products Fresh out of the Tub Wash and Baby Butter. I love that they’re made from natural products right here in the USA and come in recyclable plastic-free containers. Plus, I know my baby loves them too! Balm Baby products are made in the USA, vegan, leaping bunny certified and come in non-plastic containers and can be customized to include or exclude special ingredients for every baby’s needs. Check these products out and please pin this image below (it’s made special to be pinterest sized).
I often feel badly for my first son. He taught us how to parent and has helped decide on all of the products and toys that are in our house today. I tell him that he paved the way for his brothers and tested everything out. He used disposable diapers, Johnson’s and Johnson’s baby wash and even tried cereal. It wasn’t until I read reports about chemicals in mainstream baby bath products that I changed over to natural ingredients. I like knowing that everything onto my baby (and absorbing through his skin) is safe. I became familiar with Balm Baby bath products a few months ago and more and more of this brand is making it’s way into our daily routine. Other products we love include Balm Baby’s Mama Belly, Cloth-Safe diaper balm and baby-safe natural nipple butter. I knew bath time needed to be Balmified next. Our newborn was coming and I needed to be prepared with some natural baby bath products.
It took some time for my newborn’s belly button to heal. It fell off quickly, but remained damp inside and our pediatrician has recommended waiting to be submerged in water. I gave quick washes with a wash cloth on a towel until he could go into water and looked forward to his first bath. The tub seen here has been used with all 4 of my boys and I loved passing the torch to our newest! We’re using Balm Baby’s Fresh Out of the Tub and Baby Balm.
Fresh Out of the Tub is made from castile soap (baby safe but not tear free) and comes in this adorable robot bottle. The castile soap is formulated “using fresh, Hawaiian macadamia nut oil & coconut oil, and essential oils of lavender or orange.” It has a nice scent but the natural fragrance doesn’t linger on baby after the bath. It doesn’t suds up like the stuff our hospital hands out…but it’s straight from nature, cleans well and won’t put chemicals onto or into baby. While not being tear-free, I wash all of my boys with baby castile soap and have never had any eye incidents.
After his bath I wanted to give him a baby-massage with this wonderful Balm Baby Baby Butter. When I opened the container I thought it smelled like a chocolate cream-sickle. Ingredients include: Cocoa and Shea Butter, olive oil infused in calendula & chammomile, Hawaiian coconut & macadamia nut oil, corn starch, vitamin c-T50, vanilla bean & grapefruit EO. While whipped, the butter is solid and a little goes a very long way. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a lingering scent on my little man.
