I love tea. Hot or cold, tea is a great way to drink something full of flavor, while avoiding artificial chemicals and dyes. However, while my local Wegmans has a HUGE tea aisle, they lack a big organic selection. I’m excited to share Organic India teas; USDA Certified organic, these teas are caffeine free and full of flavor. One of my favorites is the original. Made from Tulsi (Holy Basil) this ingredient is known as the “Queen of herbs” and is valued as a sacred plant believed to have healing properties. Beliefs about this herb date back 5,000 years and after tasting these varieties…I can see why it’s been valued for so long! (Make sure to watch the video below to hear straight from the company about this herb).

I was pleasantly surprised with the original flavor. When I see the word basil, I think of spaghetti and mozzarella cheese. Tulsi or Holy Basil does not have the same flavor as sweet or Italian basil, and it makes a great tasting tea. My family has had a great time trying out the different flavors, and an all around favorite is the Honey Chamomile. It’s sweet and delicious without anything added. With a touch of locally made organic honey this tea was the favorite among my children.
I was also surprised by the fragrance from the sweet rose tea (bottom left below). If you’ve ever smelled rose turkish delight, it smells identical. The only other thing I can compare the aroma to is the essence of rose oil I smelled many years ago. While it has a potent floral fragrance, the tea is mild tasting and pleasant. It’s certainly unique and would make a nice tea time or tea party tea. Overall, I’m really happy with all the tea flavors and after learning about Holy Basil I feel like I’m doing something good for my body when I drink it. Nice right?

Make sure to “like” Organic India on facebook and look for their teas at your local store. If you don’t have a big organic selection in your grocer, you can always find all – 23 – yes…twenty three…of these boxed teas on Amazon (my favorite place to shop). Boxes of tea run on average $5 and Amazon has 2 packs for just over $10. If you’re shopping for bagged tea, the selection is amazing. If you like loose leaf tea, Organic India has that too! You can even purchase in bulk if you run a business or are a big tea drinker. As an expecting Mom, I have maintained the limited amount of daily coffee I’m allowed by switching my afternoon cup to tea. I look forward to enjoying all of these varieties and am having lots of fun trying out some favorites!

As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate a follow on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Periscope (when being chosen for reviews many companies care about numbers) and love to network on Google and LinkedIn.Want to work together? Contact MamaBananasAdventures@gmail.com.
