Mainstream beauty products are full of chemicals. In the past, the public has blindly trusted beauty companies to provide safe and effective products…without adequately questioning or regulating the ingredients. I’d like to think that we’re getting smarter! One product that is under increasing scrutiny is deodorant. From medical reports discovering aluminum (a neurotoxic chemical) is linked to Alzheimers, to reports that it may contribute or correlate to breast cancer…it’s becoming clear that we need to turn to natural products for our deodorant needs. We certainly don’t need to put questionable products in direct contact with an area full of lymph nodes when there are natural solutions available. I’m thrilled to try this Nutrexin Alum-Free Deodorant.
Prior to using this I was using a highly toxic clinical strength deodorant. To be honest, for how “clinical” it was supposed to be, it really wasn’t working. Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant, maybe it’s the unusually warm fall we’re having…but it just wasn’t doing what it needed to. While the Nutrexin deodorant wasn’t any better then this clinical strength deodorant, it certainly wasn’t any worse. In fact, it performed about the same. I did find that using a second application in the afternoon helped and I’m looking forward to seeing it’s full effectiveness once I finish my underarm detoxification from chemically based deodorant. During this process, it’s reported that more sweat is produced as pores are purged of the chemicals clogging them. I feel both relieved and optimistic about my relationship with Nutrexin!
Would I recommend this? Yes. I would recommend it, and also the hair dryer for faster drying time. I had my husband use the deodorant, he complained about the ‘sticky’ armpit feeling and I couldn’t talk him into the hair dryer. While the wetness of this product is the only downside (if that counts as a downside), the lack of chemicals and clarity it has absolutely makes it worth switching to. I learned from the company’s website that the odor found in armpit sweat is caused by bacteria, and that sweat itself is odor free. I look forward to seeing how this product performs in a few more weeks and as a brestfeeding and pregnant Mom I love knowing that I have seriously reduced the amount of chemicals I’m using by switching to this product. You can follow Nutrexin on facebook for updates and find a great selection of their products on Amazon (my favorite place to shop!).
