Carriwell Gel Wire Nursing Bra Review

     I have been breastfeeding for nearly 5 years straight! I’ve nursed through 3 pregnancies and started with my first son was born. I have tried many nursing bras from different brands. Looking back at my first time breastfeeding; Shopping for bras while 38 weeks pregnant with no idea what to buy, awkwardly trying to hold my newborn to get a good latch and spending weeks wondering if I was doing it right (sometimes I still wonder!)…I know a few things. First, newborns nurse nearly constantly. It’s normal; Cosleeping is a life saver! Second, a good bra is a must-have. The girls are working hard and need comfort, support and the ability to get out and about at a moment’s notice. I am pleased to introduce this Carriwell Gel Wire Nursing Bra and am thrilled to say that it’s the first nursing bra I’ve run into in a long time that I’m completely happy with. Here are some photos of my sample and affiliate links to find this Carriwell Nursing bra online.

     This bra marries the best of two worlds. It’s made of lovely stretchy synthetic fabric like many of my other bras…but unlike it’s less supportive competitors, this bra comes with a gel wire. What’s a gel wire? As you can see in the photo below, the ‘wire’ in this bra is made of supportive but squishy gel. It’s very comfortable and extends under my armpit. While many of my wire bras have a ‘U” shape to the wire, this one is more relaxed. I think the bra is expressing it’s understanding for the width of a nursing breast, and extends farther sideways for comfort. I typically wear this bra during the day, however it’s comfortable enough that if I fall asleep I won’t wake up all twisted with a wire jamming me in the ribs…and it’s pretty! It will definitely be in my hospital bag for baby boy 4!

Features include;

  • Gel-wire
  • Lace trim detail
  • Individually snap-down to nurse sides
  • Bra extender
  • 2 Reusable nursing pads included
  • Tagless tag
  • Seamless design
  • Made from silky microfiber
  • Available in Polka (seen here), white and black.

     While this bra comes with 2 reusable breast pads, I would recommend having more. Because it’s not padded, the girls will be free to high-beam unsuspecting onlookers. Reusable pads will help absorb leaks and keep nursing/pregnant Mama nipples from showing through your shirt. It washes well and I’ve been hanging it to dry, but I feel equally comfortable drying it on warm with my regular laundry…I just hate for my bras to get tangled with clothes. This is a Medium, their size chart was accurate for me and I like that it comes with the extenders because while I’m at the beginning of the chart for Medium, I’m on the last set of hooks for the torso band. I would definitely purchase a second bra like this and recommend it to others. Where can you find these? Carriwell products are carried in the USA  so you can pick some diapers up for little one (s) and great nursing products for yourself! Make sure to follow Kanga Care, the USA distributor, on Facebook and Here’s a video from the company.

As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate a follow on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and Periscope (when being chosen for reviews many companies care about numbers) and love to network on Google and LinkedIn.Want to work together? Contact MamaBananasAdventures@gmail.com.

    I will tell the ladies at our play group tomorrow about this one. Most of them have little ones or are expecting and a good nursing bra is a must.

    I didn't breastfeed but have heard the right bra makes all the difference. As far as cosleeping goes both of my boys did since I had to get up and go to work, I think parents need to do what they need to do.

    How is the lift? Do you feel like your breasts are supported? Love the fact that it has breast pads and it does look super comfy.

    I have heard from friends over the years how they wished someone would come out with a comfortable nursing bra–looks like someone finally did.
