The leaves are just starting to turn and we’re awaiting the arrival of Fall. What comes along with fall? Apple cider, warm sweaters, pumpkins and…Halloween! One of my favorite Holidays. As a busy Mom to 3 little boys, finding Halloween costumes can be really stressful. Last year we went into party stores, pop-up Halloween shops, big box stores and still had a hard time finding the right costume in the right size…and the stores were a disaster. I’m excited to review an Optimus Prime costume from Costume Discounters. They have a huge selection of Transformer Costumes and even had several Prime costumes to pick from! They even have Optimums Prime adults costumes…just in case you wanted one too. We are trying the Delux version seen below. It comes with the Jumpsuit, Chest Piece, Mask and Arm Weapon (looks like a shield to me).
Costume Discounters has a ginormous online shop and they have free shipping on orders over $70. If you have kids then you know it’s easy to hit $70 when purchasing costumes! I did stop and shop some $19.99 costumes today at a big box store, and they don’t have the quality and accessories that this version at $34.38 (with 20% off promotion they have going on) does. It comes with the body suit, which is thin synthetic fabric and fits easily over regular clothes, the weapon (which I think looks like a shield), the chest plate and an ‘X’ that secures it from the back, and the face mask with a black stretchy band with a touch of velcro for adjustments.
This is a size Medium, my son is just over 4 feet tall and 58 pounds. As you can see he fits in it well! With the exception of the legs being long enough to go over his feet, and the arms a bit over his hands, the torso portion is a perfect fit. This outfit doesn’t come with shoes, and we will be using his sneakers with this. He finds the mask comfortable and has already worn this a few times. When the mask isn’t being used, he slides it up ontop of his head and the elastic band holds it in place. The body suit is one piece, and closes with several velcro dots in the back. The fabric is thin, so living in a colder climate he will need clothes under this, but I think it would be fine for somewhere warm too. Overall I’m thrilled with this costume and may need to get Bumblebee for his younger brother!! Shopping on the Costume Discounters
website is easy, has a really nice selection and this arrived well packed in bubble wrap. I would purchase from there again. You can shop on their website and have everything shipped to your door to ensure everyone is ready for Halloween…dress up, or just for fun.
